Sheriff’s report: Livestock rule the roads, takeover imminent
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department received the following calls for the week of November 27 to December 3:
Nov. 29: 7:16 a.m.- A caller requested a welfare check for her daughter’s father on Crystal Creek Road, but he was determined to be at work.
5:29 p.m.- A black bull was reported to be in the ditch on the side of the highway at Highway 14A E./ Road 13. Highway patrol was notified.
5:48 p.m.- A 2015 grey Honda CRV hit a cow on Highway 14A/ Rd 13 near Lovell. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed and Highway Patrol was notified.
Nov. 30: 3:37 p.m.- Extra patrol was requested at S&L Industrial on Road 7.5 near Cowley because some suspicious vehicles had been seen.
Dec. 1: 7:26/7:27 a.m.- Extra patrol was requested two more times at S&L Industrial.
7:37 a.m.- An erratic driver was reported on Highway 310 in Lovell. A black SUV drove past a school bus, the driver was unable to say the state of the plate. Highway Patrol was notified, and the deputy said he would keep an eye out for the vehicle.
4:28 p.m.- Big Horn Sheriff’s Office assisted traffic control while cattle were moved across the highway at Highway 310/ Road 9.
Dec. 2: 2:18 p.m.- A citation was issued to a driver at Highway 32/ Lane 12 for speed and no insurance.
2:54 p.m. A citation was issued at Highway 310/ Lane 16.5 for speed.
