Shirley JoAnn (Harrison) Laverdure was born March 14, 1939 to Joseph and Naomi Laverdure in Hardin, Mont.[caption id="attachment_10163" align="alignright" width="172"]
Shirley JoAnn (Harrison) Laverdure[/caption]Shirley spent her childhood in Lodge Grass and Wyola. She lost both of her parents at a young age and lived with her grandmother Rose Laverdure for some time before moving to Wyoming. She worked at Dover’s Cleaners until her marriage.She married Richard Harrison on Jan. 31, 1959. To this union four children were born, Randall, Jay, Debra and Brenda. She spent these years farming and gardening while raising her children. The two later divorced.Her greatest joy was the countless pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that adorned her home throughout. She always talked about her pictures. They were priceless to her.She had several jobs throughout her life, but she was especially proud of her job at Red Apple Supermarket where she worked for more than 20 years. She was such a hard worker, never asking for anything. Although not active in church, she spoke of the dear Lord often.She died July 25, 2015, at NBHH after a short battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Alexander Laverdure and Naomi Bomar and brothers Fred B. Laverdure, Philip Laverdure and Donald E. Laverdure. She is survived by her children, Randal (Denise) Harrison of Lovell, Joseph (Jay) Harrison of Lovell, Debra Ward of Lovell, and Brenda (Tim) Jessen of Rock Springs. She had eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, in the Lovell Cemetery at 10 a.m.
