At the October 4 Big Horn County Fair Board meeting, the board voted to sponsor a logo contest. The desire for a new logo has been a discussion point for some time.

Fair manager Cash Duncan put together a proposal for board members, and they approved it at the meeting.

Duncan has already contacted art teachers from the various school districts within the county. He is also making flyers to distribute throughout the county.

Anyone can enter the contest and submit as many entries as they like. The prize is $250. Imagination, creativity and memories are encouraged for the design.

The logo must include “Big Horn County Fair” and “Basin, WY.” Mountains, animals, sunsets, fence lines, ag equipment and crops are encouraged. No copyrighted images are allowed.

The current logo is a ram’s head. It can be seen on the fair’s website. The contest will create a new image/face for the fair.
