Bischoff named Miss Wyoming High School Rodeo Queen
Payton Bischoff of Lovell was recently named the 2024-25 Miss Wyoming High School Rodeo Queen in Rock Springs.
Bischoff will be representing Wyoming at the 76th annual National High School Finals Rodeo next month as she competes for the title of National High School Rodeo Queen.
To enter the competition, she had to complete the following portions of the process: modeling and speech, impromptu questioning, horsemanship, an interview segment and written test.
As queen, she will be a representative of the National High School Rodeo Association and symbolic of its reputation, principles and interests to other students and adults in the local community and nation.
The daughter of Sharae and Kolt Bischoff, she takes part in barrel racing and pole bending and has been a part of the NHSRA for two years.
She has won a variety of FFA and 4-H honors over the years and currently serves as the vice president of her 4-H club.
After high school rodeo, Bischoff plans to move onto college rodeo and major in business.
She would also like to become queen of a Wyoming PRCA rodeo to work her way to Miss Rodeo Wyoming.
The newly crowned queen will make appearances in parades and rodeo grand entries across the state to perform her duties.
Due to an injury to her horse in March, Bischoff has had to make adjustments with a few different horses and overcome the struggles of working with animals with different personalities and dispositions that have proven her qualifications to receive this title.
“I am really excited for this great opportunity and exploring the possibilities of pursuing this passion in the future and represent Wyoming,” Bischoff said. “I am also extremely thankful for my family and friends that have supported me and pushed me to do this along the way.”
There are 21 rodeos on her calendar for the season that she will participate in to some degree including the Cody Night Rodeo held Tuesday evening.
