Christmas crafts

The Lovell Library is bustling with holiday activities for the kids this season. A craft day was held on December 7, and Breakfast with Santa was on Tuesday.
At the craft day, a book was read by volunteer Donna Capellen and kids made painted ornaments after. The ornaments were acrylic blanks with vinyl attached to them, Capellen said. Kids painted an assortment of colors on the front of the ornament, and when that dried they painted black on front, which created an Aurora Borealis look, she said.
Breakfast with Santa was filled to the brim with families. Kasandra Newman said her family has been coming to the library since May for story time every single week and came to the breakfast because it was a “really special event.”
Her son Wyatt liked the stickers that were used to make hats at the event. Wyatt said he is excited to meet Santa.
Charlene Asay also goes to story time every week with her family and came to enjoy the special event. She said her daughter Charlotte was “nervous but excited” to visit Santa and wants a Minnie Mouse play phone for Christmas.
The next holiday event for the library is Bingo with Santa at 4 p.m. on December 19.
