In a heartwarming display of community spirit and support, friends, family and kind-hearted strangers have come together to aid Will Dusinberre, a young hiker who suffered a tragic accident during a hike in the Big Horn Mountains.

Dusinberre, known for his infectious smile and musical talents, has touched the hearts of many during his time working at the HF Bar Ranch near Big Horn. His story is one of resilience, hope and the incredible power of human kindness.

Dusinberre’s love for nature and adventure led him to the Big Horns on Friday, June 28. As he sat by a river, soaking up the sun and enjoying a good book with friends at the base of Porcupine Falls, a sudden gust of wind caused a tree to fall, injuring Dusinberre and two companions. The quick response of rescuers ensured that Dusinberre was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings and later transported to Denver for specialized care.

Friends, colleagues and even those who have only heard of Dusinberre’s cheerful demeanor and musical talent have rallied to his side. The HF Bar Ranch, where he has spent two joyful summers, has been a hub of encouragement, with visitors and staff sharing fond memories and heartfelt messages.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Dusinberre’s spirit remains unbroken. He is currently in the ICU at the University of Colorado Main Campus, facing numerous surgeries in the coming weeks. The Dusinberre family, while overwhelmed by the challenges ahead, have been equally overwhelmed by the love and support they’ve received. Each message, prayer and donation has bolstered their strength during this difficult time.
