Competitors shine at Lovell’s Days rodeo

The Lovell’s Days rodeo had a good turnout Saturday evening with more than competitors from all over Wyoming and parts of Montana showing up for a chance to win a buckle in their event. This event was hosted by the Lovell Rodeo Club. 

The saddle bronc riding event had two local competitors put a score on the board from their rides. Ryan Nunn won the event with a top score of 80 points while Jasper Hatch trailed in second place with 70 points. 

The ranch bronc riding event was secured by Burlington rider Teddy Ball after putting 76 points on the board from his ride.

The calf roping event had five scoring times out of nine competitors. Bryce Bott of Powell took the lead on the event with a time of 14.88 seconds. EJ Panetta of Sheridan trailed behind him at 18.09. Bridger Peil of Thermopolis came in third at 21.47.

The team roping event had four top scorers. Header Austin Bennett and heeler Nate Rogers secured first place with a finishing time of 6.17 seconds. Bridger Peil and Canyon Egger followed behind in second place with a time of 7.19 and third place was taken by Pablo Good and Nate Rogers with 8.56 seconds on the board. Fourth was won by Craig Harry and Arlen Armajo with 10.12 seconds. 

Mixed team roping was won by header Lacee Good and heeler Nate Rogers with a final time of 9.03 seconds. Addison Griemsman and Travis Griemsman secured second place with a time of 9.90 seconds. Tegan Griemsman and Travis Griemsman ended in third place at 10.41 seconds and Cherain Richmond and JT Collingwood took fourth with 14.47 seconds.

The ladies breakaway roping was won by Tillie Brastrup of Billings  with a time of 4.44 seconds. Kassie Sweet of Roberts, Montana, came in second place by putting 12.88 seconds onto the board. 

The ladies’ barrels event had some close times with Worland rider Maddie Schwartzko taking first place with the top time of 18.363 seconds. Katie Bennett of Powell trailed behind in second with 18.421, and Della Epler of Worland took third with a time of 18.438. Heather Daley of Cody finished fourth at 14.465 and Kaycee Doud of Sheridan put 18.470 on the board to place fifth. Abby Eaton of Powell came in sixth with a time of 18.697 seconds. 

Youth barrels placed four top racers with Talann Perry of Worland securing the buckle with a time of 19.617 seconds. Kameron Daley of Cody came in second place scoring 19.748, and Lily Swank of Cowley took third after putting 10.039 seconds onto the board. Isabella Swank of Cowley placed fourth with a time of 20.236.

Gus Loyning of Warren, Montana, placed first in the steer riding event after putting 74 points on the board from his ride.

Local rider Randon Wagner won the bull riding event with a score of 82 points to secure the buckle. Braxton Patterson of Greybull trailed behind in second place after putting 79 points on the board Saturday evening.
