Constitution Day program set for Sept. 16
Dear Editor,
As we approach the recognition and hopefully the celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America, I have become aware of how very little the average resident knows concerning the much talked about Constitution of the United States.
Constitutional rights seem to be in every news broadcast. Our “given rights” as seen by the founding fathers are often quoted in any political conversation or discussion of “what rights do I have?”
The celebration of Constitution Day (yes, one really does exist) will occur on September 16 at the Big Horn Federal community room in Lovell at 6:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Post 11 of the local American Legion.
The presentation will include information about the Constitution, educational discussions and a lot of fun. Everyone is invited.
James Thomas,
Chaplain of Robert Boyd Stewart Legion Post 11
