Freshman basketball games and wrestling matches kick off New Year
Although varsity contests don’t resume after the holiday break until Thursday, Jan. 8, local freshman teams are scheduled to greet the New Year with games next Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The Rocky Mountain freshman girls are scheduled to host Riverside Tuesday at 6:15 p.m., while the boys travel to Basin for a game at the same time.
Meanwhile, the Lovell freshman boys are set to host Greybull at 6:15 p.m. while the girls travel to Greybull for a tap at the same time.
Varsity action resumes on Thursday, Jan. 8, when the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies travel to Powell for a non-conference battle. Tip-off times are the traditional 4 (JV), 5:30 (varsity girls) and 7 p.m. Friday, the Grizzlies will host Lovell at the same times.
Wrestlers for both Lovell and Rocky Mountain will resume competition Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9-10, at the Bobcat Invitational in Thermopolis.
The boys middle school schedule kicks off January 9-10, as well, with Rocky traveling to Thermopolis Friday at 2 p.m. and Lovell hosting Thermop Saturday at 10 a.m., with the eighth grade at the high school and the seventh grade at the middle school.
The LHS freshman teams are scheduled to compete at the Buffalo freshman tournament on Saturday, Jan. 10.
