Gov. Gordon proclaims Feb. 1 ‘Unclaimed Property Day’

CHEYENNE – Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon is encouraging all residents of the State to take two minutes of their time to search and see if they are entitled to any of the $110 million in Unclaimed Property that has been turned over to the Wyoming State Treasurer’s Office.
To help get the word out, Gov. Gordon has proclaimed February 1 “Unclaimed Property Day.”
State Treasurer Curt Meier said close to $12 million in new money has been added to Wyoming’s Unclaimed Property Fund since July 1, 2023, and the State has issued six checks exceeding $100,000 since that time.
It is estimated that approximately 33 million people across the United State are owed unclaimed property.
