Grizzlies split middle school football games in Greybull

The Rocky Mountain Grizzly middle school gridders split their season-opening games at Greybull Saturday.

According to head coach Hal Moore, the Grizz dropped the eighth-grade game 22-6 but won the seventh-grade contest 20-0.

In the eighth-grade game, Rocky Mountain’s only score came on defense when Benson Jolley pounced on a fumble in the end zone. Moore also noted that Lukas Miller had an interception in the game.

In the seventh-grade game, Ty Samson passed to Hudson Moore for a touchdown in the first quarter, and Brooks Brost scored on a jet sweep just before halftime. The final touchdown came in the third when Wyatt Blank fielded a high snap that bounced off Samson’s helmet and ran for the touchdown. Brost scored the two-point conversion to put Rocky up 20-0.

The Grizz are off this weekend but will travel to Lovell Tuesday for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.
