Highway 14A to open Friday

The Wyoming Department of Transportation plans to open U.S. Highway 14A from Lovell to Burgess Junction by noon on Friday, May 23. 

Highway workers have been working on clearing the roadway of snow, rocks and other debris for the last month to ensure a safe traveling experience on this roadway in time for the Memorial Day weekend. 

As a reminder to motorists, highway workers could be in the area working, which could include snow removal, pavement repair and delineation work. 

Motorists are cautioned to be prepared for changing weather conditions due to the higher elevations. 

Because of the quick changing weather and road conditions, the road can be closed in those situations so that highway workers can safely clear the road of snow and other hazards in a timely manner.

Before heading up the mountain, check the Wyoming 511 app for road conditions and closures and adhere to posted road closure warning signs.
