Homecoming Week activities continue at LHS

A number of activities have already been held, but there’s more to come yet this week as Lovell High School celebrates Homecoming Week 2026.

Superheroes is the theme of the 2026 celebration and will be capped by the Friday night football game against Thermopolis.

Monday was an in-service day with no school, but the Buff Puff volleyball game was held that night in Winterholler Gym.

Tuesday was the first dress-up day -- Color Day – and the annual senior class chili and cinnamon roll dinner was held at the high school cafeteria/lobby.

The Homecoming pep rally followed at 7 p.m. at the high school gym.

Wednesday was Wrong Occasion Day, with students asked to wear clothing as if they showed wearing the wrong garb for a particular event.

Thursday is Bikers vs. Surfers Day.

Friday is Blue and White Day, and the Homecoming parade will be held at 11:20 a.m. The parade will start at the high school and proceed east on Park Avenue to Shoshone Avenue, south past the elementary school around 11:35 a.m. to Ninth Street, then west to the middle school around 11:50 a.m.

Sporting events during the week include the volleyball team playing in Worland Thursday at 4, 5 and 6 p.m., the cross country team running in Worland Friday at 2 p.m. and the football game with Thermopolis Friday evening at 7. The game was moved from 6 p.m. to allow the cross country runners to return in time for the festivities.

A bonfire will follow the football game Friday south of the football field in the parking area – for students only.

The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the high school multipurpose room at a cost of $5 per single or $8 for a couple.
