Letter to the Editor:

Dear Editor,

I’m sitting here waiting for the rain. The sky is all white, and a few drops make it to the ground. The good news is that we are now past the freezing weather. At least I hope. And then the weather report calls for snow. 

I look around the neighborhood, and I notice one difference. Here it is a holiday and there are no flags out, which is weird as all the other holidays have flags out in abundance. It’s Armed Forces Day.

I guess that it is no longer something to recognize. My Flag is out, but I guess that is far as it goes. I may be laid up on my couch for most of the day, but I can still support our armed forces.
