Little leaguers gear up for all-star play
The North Big Horn Little League all-star teams are preparing for their respective Wyoming District 1 Tournaments in Powell, starting on Wednesday, July 15, and going on through Saturday, July 18.
Minor League
The NBH Minor League All-Stars will face Riverton Saturday in Powell at 11 a.m. in the 9-10-year-old tournament. If Big Horn wins, they will face Cody next Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Powell. If Big Horn loses to Riverton, they will face the loser of the Green River-Rock Springs game Wednesday at 8 a.m.

This year’s Minor League all-star team includes: from the Dodgers, Jared Mangus, Russell Crosby, Trey Wambeke and Jacob Bischoff; from the Pirates, Nathan Minemyer and Jaydin Snyder; from the Tigers, Carsyn Weber; from the Red Sox, William Spann, Ozz McArthur, Joel Padilla and Garrett Lillard; and from the South Big Horn team, Carlos Rodriguez, Cale Wright and Jake Schlattmann. Kelly Spann is the head coach for the Minor League All-Stars this year and assisting him is Ryan Mangus, Shem McArthur and Ken Wright.
The Minor All-Stars played their first game as a team Friday and defeated Worland 6-3 in Worland.
Major League
The Major League All-Stars will face Green River July 15 at 11 a.m. in the 11-12-year-old tournament. If they win, they will face the winner of the Lander-Rock Springs game Thursday, July 16, at 8 a.m. If Big Horn loses, they will face the loser of the Lander-Rock Springs game July 16 at 2 p.m.
This year’s Major League all-star team includes: from the Cardinals, CJ Pickett, Jess Wambeke, Zane Horrocks, Trace Moss, Aden Mayes, Branson Robison and Zeke Newman; from the Indians, Tyler Nichols, Dallen Mangus, Ezra Harlow and Lane Herman; and from the South Big Horn team, Noah Zeller. Justin Moss is the head coach for the Major All-Stars this year, and assisting him are Brandon Mangus, Bill Pickett and Michael Jameson.
The Majors will play in a tournament Saturday in Buffalo to prepare for the district tournament.
