LMS girls basketball teams crush Greybull to open season
The eighth grade Lovell Middle School Lady Bulldogs started the season with an amazing win. The girls stomped Greybull with a score of 42-19.
“This was a great opening game for the girls,” head coach Lance Anderson said. “They came out strong and were aggressive offensively.”
Myles May led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points, and Macie Anderson added 8 points, Daisy Carpenter 7, Morgan Harshman and Brynnlee Spanier 5 each, Kendra Allen 4 and Gracie Angell 2.
The seventh grade Lady Bulldogs came out on top, as well, beating Greybull 35-11.
“For the first game the girls came out a little tentative and nervous, but they ran through the sets we practiced,” head coach Collin McArthur said. “They worked well trying to do reads on the defense. As the game progressed, they got better and better at it. They looked a lot better by the end of the game.
“The athletes played with great energy, and as a team the thing I liked most was that they worked together and were unselfish with the ball.”
The middle school cagers will return to action Saturday, with the seventh grade hosting Cody and Powell beginning at 9 a.m. and the eighth grade traveling to Powell to meet the same two opponents, also beginning at 9.
The Lady Bulldogs will play Worland on Tuesday, with the seventh grade hosting Worland and the eighth grade traveling to Washakie County. Games tip off at 4:15 p.m.
