Lovell finner Carpenter excels at Buffalo meet

In the sport of swimming, high schooler Daisy Carpenter is making a name for herself.

Carpenter is a freshman from Lovell High School and recently competed with the Powell High School swim team in Buffalo, where she only strengthened her legacy.

Carpenter took second place in the 100-yard backstroke out of many, with a time of 1:12.60, gaining 13 points for the Powell team. She also swam a leg of the 200-yard medley relay, which took third place, and the 400-yard freestyle relay, which took third place, as well. Overall, Carpenter helped contribute 61 points to the Powell team.

Leah Sockey also competed for the Panthers in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard backstroke and Powell’s second 400-yard freestyle relay team.
