Lovell students place well for Powell swim team

The Powell High School girls swimming team recently took on the Cody Fillies in a dual in Cody. Some of the students at Lovell High School competed for Powell and put up some strong placings and scores.

To start off, Daisy Carpenter took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.32, and she also placed second in the 200-yard IM. Carpenter was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team, which took second, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team, which placed first.

Another swimmer from Lovell, Leah Sockey, took fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 3:13.60; she also placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle. Sockey was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team, which placed third. Overall, the Panthers scored 69 points, falling short of Cody’s 111 points.
