Missing person Liana Welde found safe
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that Liana Welde, who was reported missing on July 21, has been found safe and unharmed.
Welde, a resident of Lovell, was located by officers from the Billings Police Department in Montana on July 24 at approximately 8 p.m. The officers made contact with her inside the city of Billings and positively identified her.
Sheriff Ken Blackburn expressed his gratitude for the large-scale, multi-agency search effort initiated to ensure Welde’s safety.
“We are incredibly thankful for the tireless dedication and commitment of all agencies involved in the search,” Blackburn said.
The search involved multiple agencies, including Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming; North Big Horn County Search and Rescue, Wyoming; Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, Montana; Billings Police Department; Montana Air National Guard; Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Montana; and Carbon County, Montana, Search and Rescue.
The Sheriff’s Office also extended thanks to the citizens who provided accurate and up-to-date sightings and to news agencies and social media platforms for sharing important updates.
