Monty Ray Rossenborg was born in Seattle on Oct. 11, 1955, to Ray and Patricia (Beaudoin) Rossenborg. He spent his early years in the Langdon, N.D., area. His father’s work took the family throughout much of the midwest allowing Monty to attend many different schools while growing up. He graduated from high school in Ely, Nev.
At a very young age, Monty developed an excellent work ethic helping his parents on the family farm in Mona, N.D. This continued throughout his life. He worked for 40 years in power line and substation construction, where he traveled extensively.
While working in Missouri he met Doris (Snyder) Brinklow. They married on Nov. 24, 1992, in Lovell. With this marriage he gained three children: Donald Eugene, Dawn Renee and Joseph Aaron Brinklow. He was widowed in 2006 when his wife of 14 years died.
Monty enjoyed hunting, spending time in the outdoors, visiting Alaska with his brother Darcy and spending time with his seven grandchildren. Monty enjoyed camping with his mother Pat and father Ray, and brother and sister Darcy and Vicki. Monty’s passion was fishing. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish. In the last few months he was fortunate enough to go fishing with Dean and Ellie, and to spend several special days with his father fishing at Sibley Lake.
Monty is survived by his parents, Ray and Patricia Rossenborg of Byron; his brother Darcy of Valdez, Alaska; his sister Vicki (David) Hammond of Cowley; his children Donnie (Shireena) Brinklow of Lovell, Dawn (Vernon) Allphin of Byron and Joey Brinklow of Byron; his grandchildren Tanner Brinklow, Taylor Wolsey, Dalton Wolsey, Maren Brinklow, Aiden Brinklow, Alexis Brinklow and Gemma Allphin; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Monty was preceded in death by his wife, Doris.
Services will be held on Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home, with interment of ashes to follow immediately at the Lovell Cemetery.
