The Lovell Mustangs headed down to their B team jamborees in Lander and Riverton on Saturday.

The eighth-grade team finished on top, winning both games at their jamboree in Riverton, beating Lander 46-14 and Riverton 37-20.

“We are proud of how the boys played at the B Jamboree,” coach Stephany Durtsche said. “They put together the things we have been asking of them all season.”

The seventh-grade B team played Lander in Lander and lost 20-13, also falling to Riverton 20-11. Coach Tera Kostelecky said her team came close to a win in their final games with the two hard fought contests.

The Mustang A teams will now travel to their respective Yellowstone Conference tournament on Saturday. The third-seeded seventh graders will compete in Powell, opening up against sixth seed Powell at 9 a.m. The eighth-grade squad will play in Cody, meeting Rocky Mountain in the opening round at 9 a.m.
