Oliver William Peterson

Oliver William Peterson, 80, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at the New Horizons Care Center in Lovell. Oliver was the son of Oliver and Hannah Peterson of Burlington. He was born Oct. 4, 1935, near Cowley at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Alda Godfrey.[caption id="attachment_10582" align="alignright" width="182"]Oliver William Peterson Oliver William Peterson[/caption]He was raised on the farm/ranch his grandfather homesteaded south of Burlington. He farmed and ranched most of his life. He also spent years as a ditch rider for both Emblem and Burlington. He worked in the oil field as a roughneck and finally as a driller. He retired as a Wyoming State Water Commissioner.He was preceded in death by his wife June (Edna) Peterson, who died a year ago, and his parents and a daughter, Kelly Kay Peterson. He is survived by seven children, 31 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.Services will be held at the LDS Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. He will be interred at the Burlington Cemetery.
