The LMS Bulldogs worked hard last week to finish with top placers for both boys and girls at the Worland Invitational Thursday.

In the boys division Oscar Garcia placed ninth with a time of 12:35, and Weston Hendershot placed 14th with a time of 13:09. In the girls division Nellie Guccion placed 10th with a time of 13:51, and Chloe Asay finished 14th with a time of 14:42.

“It was another meet where we excelled and improved our times—not everyone, but most kids,” head coach Joshua Sanders said. “There were a lot of athletes who had good plans going into the competition. Weston Hendershot planned to get off to a better and quicker start, and he was able to do that. Some other runners ran more aggressively at the beginning, leading to some really good times.

“I am really impressed with Nellie Guccion; that was the best I’ve seen her run. She ran a really fast time and is a great runner. I was truly impressed with her effort. She placed in the top ten for the first time as a sixth grader. Our plan going into this next meet is to practice how to run hills, because Thermopolis has a big hill, and some of the kids are actually excited to run that.”
