The public knew nothing of it until subscribers were called and asked to remove the crank from their old ringing type. Cooperation in learning to use the latest type battery ringing phones is asked of the public. The thought of this big white Tom on the dinner table doesn’t seem to paint a mouth-watering picture for Eric and Sylvia Asay, children of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Asay, who live on a farm east of Lovell. The older children reported that this turkey was spared, but that another was going in the roaster for the family gathering. Jodee Bassett, a meter reader in the Lovell area, is featured in an article entitled: “Wyoming meter reader returns to the range.” The article talks about Bassett’s involvement in his family’s Schively Guest Ranch in the Pryor Mountains.
