The Cowley Progress

Radiator coils and risers are necessary, and because of their utility they occupy a place of prominence in every room. At best they are not things of beauty. Why custom has accentuated their homeliness and prominence by coating them with silver or bronze paint no one knows, but it is high time this practice stopped. The use of such paints seriously reduces heating efficiency. Repaint them to harmonize with room color schemes before starting the heating system.

Frances and Clarence Morrison, tax consultants, auditors and accountants, operating under the firm name of Morrison Brothers, have moved their offices. Their new location is in the Snyder building in the upstairs suite formerly occupied by Dr. R.B. Croft. They will have two large rooms where they were cramped in one small building before.

This local firm specializes in bookkeeping systems, accounting work and tax consultants, as well as writing any kind of insurance or bonds except life insurance. Starting in a small way some years ago, they have branched out to serve the north end of Big Horn County and also handle this type of service in Powell and Greybull.

In Big Horn County, the proportion of women in the labor force is greater than ever. The latest government figures show that no less than 1,270 local women, out of a total female population of 3,540 over the age of 16 are employed or are seeking employment. The proportion, 35.9 percent, is well above the 28.6 percent report in 1960. The degree to which Big Horn County women have made their presence felt in the employment field is brought out in the official figures. They show that local women now hold some 32 percent of all jobs in the area.

Lance Anderson was looking for a small town in Wyoming where he could open his own dental practice. He believes he has found the perfect place. Dr. Anderson has opened Lovell Dental at 240 E. Main.

Last October he visited Lovell and fell in love with the community. Anderson started looking for a building and found the former Box Office Video building, noting that the open interior made it a perfect place to remodel. Construction was completed in the spring, and the practice opened in early July.
