PHS swimmers wrap up pre-holiday schedule

The Powell boys swim team faced off against Riverton in a dual Friday. Three students free North Big Horn County competed for Powell.

During the dual senior Hugh Carpenter placed second in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:07.18 and second in the 500-yard free with a time of 6:01.82. Senior Will Fuller placed third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:31.91 and fifth in the 100-yard free with a time of 1:01.25. Junior Gabe Buchholz placed fifth in the 500-yard free with a time of 6:31.13 and sixth in the 50-yard free with a time of 26.37.  

Saturday, the team competed in Riverton against four other teams. Fuller placed first in the 50-yard free with a time of 23.85 and second in the 100-yard back with a time of 1:05.22. Buchholz placed fourth in the 100-yard free with a time of 58.74. 

Over the weekend many more state qualifiers arose. Carpenter qualified in the 200-yard freestyle and in the 500-yard freestyle. Carpenter is now qualified for state in eight events.
