Police Report: Broken wheelchair strands customer at local business

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of Dec. 23-29:

Dec. 25: A motorist backing out of a driveway backed into a parked car. The owner of the car was notified. No citation was issued.

Dec. 26: A woman returned home to find items in her home had been scattered and displaced. She reported the incident to police and a criminal trespass order was filed against her ex-boyfriend.

Dec. 27: Police received a call from a local business regarding a person stranded due to a broken wheelchair. Arrangements were made for someone to take him and the wheelchair home.

Dec. 28: Officers received a report regarding a group of juveniles climbing on a water pipe in Armory Park. Contact was made with the youth who blamed the incident on another juvenile who they said was no longer in the park.

Dec. 29: Police officers tried to track down an aggressive dog after receiving several reports of incidents involving the dog. They were unable to locate the animal.

A man called the police department to report that his ex-girlfriend had violated a protection order. When officers looked into the matter, they found that the protection order was filed against the man himself, not his ex. Since the man walked away from the situation without engaging in an argument, he was not in violation of the order.

Officers were asked by a concerned party to conduct a wellness check at the residence of a 63-year-old man who had not heard from in a while. An officer went to the residence and found that he had moved. They located the man at his new residence and he was fine.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Dept. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
