Police report: Man arrested for punching holes through apartment walls

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week
of August 18-24:

August 19: 2:48 p.m. – A resident of the Lovell Apartments on Montana
Avenue called to report loud sounds coming from his neighbor’s
apartment that sounded like he was trying to break down the wall. When
officers arrived and saw the damages, Jonathan Joy, 40, was arrested
for property destruction and breach of peace. Joy had punched holes
through the wallboard on the adjoining wall between his apartment and
the reporting neighbor. After the arrest, officers found similar
damage throughout the apartment.

4:39 p.m. – A parent called to report that her juvenile son was upset
and left their house on his scooter and was concerned he was running
away. He called back later to formally report him missing, but the son
showed back up to the home minutes later.

August 21: 9:22 a.m. – A motorist called to request traffic control
after their vehicle broke down on the corner of Main Street and Nevada
Avenue. Officers arrived and helped push the vehicle to the side of
the street, and the motorist called for further assistance to have the
vehicle taken care of.

2:28 p.m. – A woman called to report a phone scam claiming to be from the
Wells Fargo fraud department. She said the scammers were very
believable and weren’t trying to get card information, but through
Apple Pay on her phone.

August 23: 5:51 p.m. – Three puppies were found on West Main Street,
and the owner is unknown. The puppies were taken to the pound, and if
no one claims them by Saturday, they will be put up for adoption.

August 24: 7:37 p.m. – Officers responded to a domestic dispute on
Oregon Avenue between a married couple. The couple was in a verbal
argument where the female wanted her intoxicated husband to leave the
residence because their kids had school the next day and he wouldn’t
leave. Officers spoke to the husband, and he agreed to leave and stay
somewhere else for the night.

Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court
of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or
dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
