Police report: Man can’t get by pit bull to get to work
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of February 9-15:
February 9: 5:41 a.m. – A caller on East Sixth Street reported that a man was attempting to go to work but could not get to his truck due to the presence of a pit bull outside the home acting in an aggressive manner. The owner of the pit bull put the dog back inside a neighboring house before an officer could arrive. An officer later met with the two parties, and the issue was resolved.
6:20 a.m. – A caller on West Eighth Street reported that neighborhood dogs were barking outside at 4 a.m.
8:11 a.m. – A woman taking her granddaughter to school at Lovell Elementary reported that the young lady doesn’t want to go to school and refused to get out of her truck at the school, saying she was afraid to go to school without her sister. An officer and the grandmother were able to walk the girl into the school.
2:08 p.m. – An officer performed a welfare check on East Eighth Street. Everything was OK.
February 10: 4:50 p.m. – An officer recognized a dog running loose outside Lovell High School and took the dog to its owner a block away.
February 11: 8:11 a.m. – A girl refused to go to school at Lovell Elementary but was escorted onto the grounds by an officer and met by her teacher.
8:51 a.m. – An officer assisted Probation and Parole at a residence on West Main, using a K-9 to check a vehicle and the residence. The dog discovered presumptive methamphetamine, and Sean Brady Randolph, 58, was arrested and transported to the county detention center in Basin.
February 12: 4:16 a.m. – A caller complained that someone was using a leaf blower in the parking lot at The Market.
2:17 p.m. – An 85-year-old woman called to ask if an officer could help her replace a light bulb, saying she can’t climb a ladder. An officer responded and replaced the bulb.
3:53 p.m. – A caller on Nevada reported that their parked car had been hit. An investigation showed that a neighbor had been towing a vehicle that did hit the parked vehicle. The neighbor agreed to fix the damage.
February 13: A caller complained about a white Buick driving 90 miles per hour and tailgating. An officer followed the vehicle to a residence and spoke to a female driver who denied any wrongdoing.
8:56 p.m. – A verbal argument among family members on East Main Street evolved into a minor physical altercation, but no one wished to pursue charges, and individuals were separated for the night.
February 14: 5:05 p.m. -- A shopper found the door open at a downtown business but could find no one in the building. An officer contacted the owner, who arrived to lock the door.
