Police Report: Video game fight causes neighbor to suspect domestic violence

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week

of September 1-7:

September 1: 12:13 p.m. – A woman came into the police department with concerns regarding harassment. The police officers referred her to the CARES office to pursue charges.

12:34 p.m. – A minor crash occurred at the Conoco Country Store when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot and another car pulled into the pump. When the vehicle went to back up, the driver did not see the other car parked behind them and sideswiped the parked car. Since it is a private parking lot, no citations were issued and both parties exchanged information.

September 4: 12:01 a.m. – There was a report made that a group of juveniles were hanging out at the closed Lovell Garage Door parking lot late at night, revving engines and driving up and down the street loudly. The officers were unable to locate them but will keep an eye on the location in the future.

7:29 p.m. – Two male subjects were talking to one another on Montana Avenue, and the discussion got heated and led to a minor physical altercation. When officers arrived and spoke to the individuals, neither wished to press charges and the issue had been resolved.

September 5: 1:06 p.m. – A resident of Legacy Court wanted to report that some kids had moved their water hose from a position in their yard to water their grass near the home’s window well. When the homeowner went out and started the water to water their lawn, they had not realized someone moved the hose and it flooded the window well and caused minor damages. The owner did not wish to pursue charges and simply just wanted the incident report on file.

3:43 p.m. – A resident living in Bair’s Trailer Court called to report that it sounded like their neighbors were fighting and throwing things. When the officer arrived, they discovered that it was two juvenile brothers who got into a verbal and physical altercation over a video game. The officers spoke to both juveniles and notified the parents and the issue was resolved.

September 6: 6:01 p.m. – An individual began speaking to an officer at Maverik Country Store about a scam he had fallen for online that involved a fake rental listing that was posted and he had sent deposit money to and never got back. The officer told the individual to go to
the police station and file a formal report, but the individual never followed through with the complaint.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
