Rocky C team rips Riverside in season finale

The Rocky Mountain boys C team concluded the 2025-26 season on a high note Tuesday, clobbering the Riverside Rebels 48-25 at the RMHS Gym in Cowley.

The Grizz took charge early, outscoring Riverside 15-4 in the first quarter, and after leading 24-16 at halftime, Rocky Mountain dominated the second half 24-9 to win by 23 points.

Cooper Ward topped three players in double figures with 13 points, and Jaxx May added 11 points, Jaxson Sponsel 10. Jayden Scheeler dropped in 5 points, Gary Gardner 4, Kreegan Jones 3 and Lukas Miller 2. May pulled down 10 rebounds, Sponsel seven.

“It was a great win to end our season,” coach Taylor Winland said. “I am proud of the boys for all the work they have put in this season. Each player got better and pushed himself.”

The team finished the season 4-5.

 

Junior varsity

The Rocky junior varsity squad split a pair of games last week, falling at Greybull 53-29 Friday night and beating Shoshoni at home on Saturday, 47-35.

Greybull led 23-17 and put the game out of reach by outscoring the Grizz 17-3 in the third quarter. Ward led the Grizz with 13 points, and May added 7, Sponsel 6, Travis Crosby 2 and Miller 1.

Saturday at home, the Grizzlies led 19-14 at halftime and outscored Shoshoni 28-21 in the second half. May scored 16 points, Sponsel 15, Ward 6, Crosby and Cameron Minchow 3 each, Miller and Scheeler 2 apiece.
