Rocky JVs split jamboree games

The Rocky Mountain junior varsity football squad played two games in one Monday, as they participated in a three-team jamboree in Thermopolis.

The young Grizz suffered their first loss of the season, falling to host Thermopolis 16-8. Coach Rod Winland said the lone touchdown was scored by freshman Cooper Ward on a five-yard run. Mason Moss hit Coby Wachob for the two-point conversion.

The Grizzlies shut out Wind River 22-0. Ward scored on a pair of 40-yard runs, and Moss reached pay dirt on a 30-yard burst. Moss also hit Jaxson Miller for a two-point conversion, and Ward reached the end zone for a two-pointer.

The JV Grizzlies will play their final game Monday when they travel to Shoshoni for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
