Rocky Mountain students compete at FBLA National Leadership Conference in Texas

Eight members of Rocky Mountain High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter traveled to San Antonio, Texas, June 28 through July 3 to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference.

Students attending were juniors John Mader, Kreegan Jones, Cooper Ward and Evin Clendenen; seniors Travis Crosby and Avery Thomas; and 2026 graduates Landon Pruett and Charlie McAlhany. The students earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals after placing among the top four in their respective events at the Wyoming FBLA State Leadership Conference in March. 

In addition to competing against more than 12,000 FBLA members from across the country, the students attended leadership workshops, explored exhibits from business and college vendors and participated in the organization’s national voting process. While in San Antonio, the group also visited the historic Alamo, explored the famous River Walk and spent time at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

“Attending the national conference gives our students the opportunity to connect with peers from across the country, learn from nationally recognized entrepreneurs and business leaders and discover the innovative projects and ideas other FBLA chapters are pursuing,” said FBLA adviser Skye Mader.

Rocky Mountain High School Principal Betsy Sammons shared a similar perspective. 

With the national conference now complete, the Rocky Mountain FBLA chapter will soon begin preparing for the new school year by recruiting new members and gearing up for another season of competitions, leadership opportunities and connections with business professionals.
