Sheriff’s Report: Deputies respond to fight in parking lot
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of June 3-9:
June 3: A property owner in Byron was issued a town ordinance violation for numerous parked cars with expired tags.
Deputies responded to a fight that was in progress in the parking lot of a gas station near Lovell. Those involved had left the scene before deputies arrived.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call regarding a family dispute over ownership of a vehicle near Lovell. The individuals involved were advised that it is a civil matter.
June 4: Deputies investigated what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle at the Byron Cemetery.
A property owner from Frannie called to complain that a contractor working for a neighbor threatened to tear down a fence in order to remove a tree. After deputies intervened, the contractor agreed he would not touch the fence or tree.
Deputies searched for a loose dog running on Highway 310 near Lovell but were unable to locate the dog.
June 5: An individual contacted deputies for information about a protection order.
June 6: Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a deer in Deaver.
Tire debris causing a road hazard was removed from the roadway on Highway 310 near Lovell.
June 8: Suspicious activity at the Kane Cemetery was reported to deputies. No other information was available.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
