Sheriff’s report: Juvenile rolls her father’s pickup west of Lovell
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of September 22-28:
September 22: 10:27 a.m. – A citizen found an injured dog on Road 7 and was told there was no county shelter to take the animal. The woman was informed that she could call the Lovell Police Department or take the dog, which had a possible broken jaw, to a veterinarian.
3:57 p.m. – A German shorthair pointer was reported lost near Bear Lodge on the Big Horns. The dog was later recovered by the owner.
8:39 p.m. – A caller reported a dark red or brown semi with a trailer parked in the middle of the highway near the Oasis Junction with its emergency flashers on. A deputy was out of position, so the call was transferred to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
September 23: 12:18 a.m. – Deputies investigated a one-vehicle crash at the sugar factory in which an employee’s vehicle slid on beet pulp and struck a concrete wall. There were no injuries. The report stated that the employee had just been terminated.
2:09 p.m. – A subject came to the annex seeking information about harassment and was referred to CARES.
September 24: 7:43 a.m. – Members of the sheriff’s office helped teach hunter safety at the Lovell shooting range for Rocky Mountain students.
1:52 p.m. – Deputies assisted the Lovell Police Department at the scene of a fender bender on Circle Drive.
2:40 p.m. – The Sheriff’s office is investigating the theft of a fuel pump from the back of a truck at the County Road and Bridge facility in Cowley.
4:16 p.m. – Deputies investigated a minor crash between a Fed Ex truck and a CETCO truck at the plant east of Lovell.
6:52 p.m. – A 15-year-old juvenile rolled her father’s pickup at U.S. 310 and Road 9 west of Lovell near the Shoshone River bridge. The young woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
September 25: 7:22 a.m. – A deputy removed a log from the middle of the highway about 10 miles southwest of Byron on Wyoming 32.
September 26: 8:11 a.m. – A dispute between neighbors on Lane 5½ near Deaver regarding livestock and fencing was determined to be a civil matter.
10:30 a.m. – A deputy removed a chain from the middle of the highway on U.S. 310 south of Lovell.
September 28: 8:20 a.m. – A caller advised that his son’s vehicle was hit on the driver’s side rear fender while he was at a friend’s house the night before.
3:55 p.m. – A Cowley citizen who had been in a domestic dispute with her significant other and was staying at a local motel asked for information on how to protect her child. She was given contact information for CARES.
