Sheriff’s report: Saddled but riderless horse raises concern

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of April 29-May 5:

April 29: A lone black cow was reported on the road near Byron.

Deputies investigated a report of a saddled but riderless horse spotted in a field near Byron. When they arrived, it was no longer there.

A car crash reported in Deaver turned out to be someone with car trouble.

April 30: A deputy conducted a drug awareness class at a private business.

May 2: Deputies assisted U.S. Marshals during contact with a resident in Cowley.

May 3: Deputies responded to a domestic altercation where two parties were arguing over who had custody of children over the weekend. The matter was resolved without arrests.

May 4: A report of harassment during a rodeo event in Cowley was investigated by deputies. The matter was resolved with no further problems.

Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
