Sheriff report: Geese invade Cowley park
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of Oct. 7-13:
October 7: 12:46 p.m. – A flock of geese was reported in the Cowley Town Park. The owner said she would come take care of it.
3:42 p.m. – A deputy observed a vehicle blocking the road on Road 5 near Byron. The owner promised to move the car.
10:16 p.m. – A caller reported that his vehicle had hit a deer on U.S. 14A West near Byron, stating that the deer was alive but wounded badly. There was damage to the vehicle but no injuries to passengers. The Wyoming Highway Patrol was advised and dispatched a trooper to the site.
October 8: 7:44 p.m. – A deputy assisted a motorist who had a flat tire. The driver said he would park the car at the All American Sports Bar near the Oasis Junction and would fix the tire the next day.
October 9: 2:11 a.m. – A deputy came across a Mini Cooper with no one around on U.S. 14A West near Byron. The vehicle was tagged for towing if the owner did not retrieve the car within a day or two.
4:57 p.m. – A reporting party said he was walking his dog on Lane 5½ in Deaver when his dog was attacked by another dog. The RP said his dog was OK. The owner of the attacking dog offered to help with veterinarian bills, but the owner said there were no injuries.
October 10: 3:40 p.m. – A caller reported that a champagne-colored SUV almost ran his car off the road and was driving at a high rate of speed. Deputies were out of the area on a high priorty call, so the call was transferred to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
7:32 p.m. – A deputy helped a motorist change a flat tire on U.S. 310 near Lovell.
October 12: A deputy backed up Lovell Police officers on a domestic dispute call on East Sixth Street in Lovell.
2:56 p.m. – A case of road rage between individuals who knew each other was reported, with one of the parties having a no trespass order against the other. A deputy stood by as the calling party removed items out of a car and into a house.
9:34 p.m. – A caller in Byron reported that his neighbor’s dog was nearly always barking. The dog owner was contacted and was told she needed to control the dog or the owner would be cited under a Byron town ordinance.
October 13: 4:13 p.m. – A deputy made contact with a motorist parked in Cowley to see if the motorist was OK. The vehicle driver was merely taking pictures of a tree.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
