Sheriff report: Runaway trailer breaks loose west of Lovell

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of June 22-28:

June 23: 6:33 p.m. – A caller reported a light grey Ford Maverick coming into Big Horn County from Park County on Wyoming 114 near Deaver, the pickup “swerving all over the road, tailgating and almost causing a head-on collision.” Both the sheriff’s office and the Lovell Police Department were notified.

10:41 p.m. – A caller in Cowley complained that a neighbor’s dog “barks all night.” A deputy attempted to make contact by phone with the property owner and left a message asking the family to get their dog to stop barking.

June 25: 11:02 a.m. – A female caller in Lovell reported that a female living out of state was sending her harassing text messages. She was advised to contact the law enforcement agency where the sender lives.

3:26 p.m. – A call reported that a side-by-side was stuck in the Bighorn National Forest near Bald Mountain. A deputy gave the driver, who had walked out to the highway, a ride back to her vehicle and helped free it and get her back on the highway.

5:12 p.m. – A caller reported a stray bulldog in her yard in Cowley. She put it on a leash and reported the dog on Facebook.

7:45 p.m. – A caller on East Road near Lovell reported cattle out and heading toward the highway. The owner arrived and took care of them.

June 26: 1:17 p.m. – A deputy assisted at the scene of a runaway trailer just west of Lovell near Good 2 Go. A truck was hauling a piece of farm equipment west out of Lovell when the trailer came off. The driver executed a sharp turn to prevent the trailer from hitting a vehicle, but it then continued on through the state fence near U.S. 310-14A and Highway 32.

10:45 p.m. – A caller on East Road called with concerns about animals sounding off as if in distress. A deputy discovered that fireworks may be upsetting the livestock because they had plenty of feed and water.

June 27: 12:51 p.m. – A caller reported 10 goats on the highway just west of Lovell near the Shoshone River bridge, but when a deputy responded there were not goats to be found.

3:58 p.m. – A caller in Byron reported hearing fireworks in the area.

June 28: 5:07 p.m. – A caller reported hitting a deer near Burgess Junction.

Destiny Ann Devyak of Lovell was charged with interference with a peace officer while incarcerated in the Big Horn County Detention Center.
