Unplug, unwind, and reconnect: ‘Inspire WYou Wellness & Creativity in the Wild’ Aug. 31

The stunning backdrop of the Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site near Hyattville will set the stage for a rejuvenating event focused on wellness, creativity and community on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Inspire WYou is a statewide community vitality and health program hosted by the University of Wyoming Extension. For this event, UW Extension is partnering with Wyoming State Parks. Wellness & Creativity in the Wild is a free day of fun and connection designed to help participants relax, recharge and explore their creative side surrounded by Wyoming’s wild beauty.

Event highlights include:

• Emotional well-being with Larissa Bonnet and Melissa Cook, University of Wyoming Extension

• A delicious Dutch oven chili lunch provided by the Friends of Medicine Lodge

• A guided nature walk with Medicine Lodge Superintendent Heather Jolley

• Wyoming Well & Wild: Nature Journaling Workshop with Hailey Sorg of University of Wyoming Extension

• Paint in the Park with Ranger Katie Singleton ($22 for painting supplies’ must register online)

Pre-registration is required by August 29, especially for those who wish to participate in the free lunch and the painting activity (which is limited to 12 spots). All other sessions are free and open to the public.

“This is a day to slow down, breathe in the mountain air and focus on what really matters — your well-being and the joy of creativity,” said Melissa Cook, one of the event organizers.
