If you’re thinking about changing your Medicare supplemental insurance plan, confused about how it works, can’t tell an EOB from an ASAP or you are not sure if you can afford health insurance at all, consider Lydia Wood your new go-to resource for information.

Wood is a certified (health insurance) application counselor at North Big Horn Hospital specifically trained to help patients understand and navigate the many options available on the insurance marketplace. Wood will be conducting two informative question and answer sessions in early November to help answer the above questions and more.

The first session will be held at the North Big Horn Senior Citizens Center on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second session will be held at the Big Horn Federal Bank community room in Lovell on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Wood is available to assist with insurance enrollment, to explain how Medicare Advantage plans work, to explain the difference between a Medicare Advantage plan and a Medi-Share plan and to explain cost saving programs offered by the State of Wyoming and more. The sessions are free and open to the public, and there couldn’t be a better time since the open enrollment period for most programs is currently in progress through December 7.

“Medical care is expensive,” said Julie Watson, NBHH Business Office Supervisor. “If there are better options for people, we want to help, and Lydia can provide that help.”

Those unable to attend the public sessions can contact Wood at 307-548-5614 to schedule an individual appointment.
