Violet Mae Wency Griffith Goeman

August, 8, 1919 - September 25, 2021

Violet Mae Wency Griffith Goeman came to Cowley from Thermopolis, where she had owned Mac’s Bar. After selling Mac’s Bar, she decided she wasn’t ready to retire, so she purchased the Waterhole in Cowley. She remodeled the whole upstairs into a charming home for herself and her husband, Ronald “Red” Goeman.

After the death of Red, Wency bought herself a home in Cowley, where she enjoyed her lawn and garden and her love of flowers until August 2018, moving to Boise, Idaho.

Wency Violet Mae Griffith Goeman was born in Albany County, Rock River, Wyoming, August 8, 1919, to Joseph Leroy Griffith and Hester Josephine Fisher Griffith and raised on the “Little Medicine” north of Medicine Bow, Wyoming.

She is survived by her sister, Lucy Belle Griffith Helmann, granddaughter Judy, grandson Mike and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 17 brothers and sisters, her son Ernest Standley Harnden Tiny, daughter Mary Louise and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Cowley Cemetery Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at 10 a.m.
