Zeller graduates as patrol deputy
Big Horn County Sheriff Ken Blackburn this week announced that Caden Zeller of Lovell graduated last Thursday, July 31, from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas.
Blackburn said Zeller completed the 13-week basic deputy course and is now a certified patrol deputy.
“We’re really proud of him,” Blackburn said. “He excelled in many areas and did an excellent job with his classroom work.”
Blackburn attended the graduation ceremony along with Sgt. Craig Shidler and Field Training Officer Austin Leonhardt.
A 2017 graduate of Lovell High School, Zeller served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and worked at the Big Horn County Detention Center for four years after completing the eight-week detention officer basic course, Blackburn said, adding that Zeller applied to be a patrol deputy about a year ago.
Though deputies patrol the entire county, Zeller will be based in the north end of the county and is a resident of Lovell.
He is the son of Jonathan Zeller and Cara Chadwick.
