Strong turnout marks Mustang Days shoots

The annual Lovell Mustang Days Trap Shoot and Top Gun Shoot events produced a strong turnout and some fine marksmanship at the Lovell Trap Range Monday and Tuesday.

Sponsored by the Lovell Rod and Gun Club, the events are back-to-back kickoff events for the annual community celebration.

Bill Scott won the Annie Oakley Shoot Monday, and Brikton Wardell and Pat Steed won the Buddy Shoot.

Men’s Trap Shoot winners were Wardell, 44/50, Eric Anderson, 41/50, and Levi Miller, 39/50. Ladies winners were JLee Steed, 25/50, Maddisun Steed, 13/50, and Sadie Ennis, 12/50.

Payouts were $20 each for the Buddy Shoot, $43 for the Annie Oakley winner and $30, $20 and $10 to the top three performers in the Trap Shoot.

Top Gun participants Tuesday shot skeet, trap, pistol (any caliber with iron sight), .22 rifle (scope allowed) and long-range rifle.

Scott was the adult winner, with HB Jolley second. Jayden Hunder won the youth division, with Daniel Jordan second.
