Police report: Neighbor piles dead sunflowers in driveway amid dispute

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of July 14-20:

July 14: 10:47 a.m. – A juvenile was having an argument with their mom and began throwing things at her and was reportedly suicidal. After DFS was contacted, the juvenile was taken to NBHH for evaluation.

11:53 a.m. – Two adults were in a civil dispute on West Second Street that resulted in officers taking one of them to be evaluated at NBHH for mental health issues.

2:23 p.m. – A caller from the Western Motel told officers that they were not feeling well mentally. The officer spoke with the individual and explained options they could explore, and the citizen calmed down and took the information.

5:57 p.m. – A resident walking down Carmon Avenue noticed that one of the yards was flooded and water was running into the street and was concerned about the welfare of the owner of the property. Officers contacted the owners, and they informed the officers that they had just put down new sod in the yard and wanted to make sure it was getting enough water.

July 15: 12:17 p.m. – A caller called to complain that there were vehicles parked too close to the corners at West Eighth Street and Shoshone Avenue that made it difficult to see oncoming traffic. Since there are no yellow lines there, the vehicles were parked legally.

July 16: 4:47 p.m. – A female on Hampshire Avenue called reporting a dog that was jumping their fence and attacking her and her dogs and informed police if it happened again, she would shoot the animal. The dog was apprehended and taken to the animal shelter. The owner claimed to be homeless, and a friend was watching the dog. The individual relinquished ownership of the dog, and it has since been adopted and released from the shelter.

7:57 p.m. – A female called from Washakie Avenue and made some concerning remarks to the dispatcher. Officers and deputies tracked down the woman to check on her well-being, and she was taken to NBHH for evaluation.

July 17: 1:19 p.m. – The same female from Washakie Avenue called seeking help, left town, and deputies found her in an unstable condition and took her back to NBHH for further evaluation.

9:29 p.m. – The owner of a residence on Garfield Avenue called to report a suspicious person on their property in their garage. The individual was out of town and had asked a friend to look after his home and animals. The friend was unable to make it to the residence and sent another friend to perform the duties and had not alerted the owner. The owner did not recognize the individual on the doorbell camera, but everything checked out OK.

July 18: 10:11 a.m. – A woman called to report missing medication from her residence on Garfield Avenue. The investigation is still ongoing.

July 19: 1:20 p.m. – Officers assisted a resident at the Rose City West apartments with shutting off a smoke detector after the resident had burned chicken on the stove.

10:19 p.m. – Two neighbors were in an argument on East Sixth Street, and the female caller reported that her male neighbor had cut several sunflowers from his property and left a pile of them behind her vehicle in her driveway. When she came out and saw them, he started swearing at her. The officer could see where he had cut the flowers and informed him of breech of peace and told the female caller to call again and report if there were any further issues.

July 20: 6:40 a.m. – A caller reported that a juvenile female had run away with a 21-year-old. Officers met with the caller and was told that someone had dropped the juvenile off on the road to Powell. She returned home later and checked out OK.

9:44 a.m. – A resident of Kansas Avenue reported that they had fallen for a scam on Facebook that resulted in them sending over $500 in crypto currency. The investigation is ongoing.

5:08 p.m. – The police department received a call that a resident on West Main Street had just had major surgery and received a prescription for opiates. She went to take her medication and realized that nearly half of them were gone. The case remains under investigation.

5:39 p.m. – A woman came into the police station after getting into a verbal argument with her ex in regard to their 1-year-old child, claiming he was making threats toward her. The officer and female called and spoke to the father and worked out the issue.
