Police report: Officers deal with multiple domestic disputes

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of September 8-14:

September 8: 9:13 p.m. – A resident of Bair’s Trailer Court reported damage to his property. An individual broke out the window to his truck claiming the owner sold fentanyl to his wife. The suspect was found and cited for destruction of property, and the drug claims were
reported to the proper authorities for investigation.

September 9: 12:30 a.m. – A husband called the police department to report that he and his wife were in a strong argument on Wyoming Street. Officers arrived and spoke to both parties, and they agreed to stay in their home but in separate bedrooms to make sure their kids
were OK. The argument was just verbal, and officers determined the situation was resolved.

1:20 p.m. – A man called to request a welfare check on an elderly woman. Officers went to her home, and she was not home. The male called again and said she was at Big Horn Federal. Officers arrived at the scene, and the woman was checked out by EMS personnel and checked out OK.

September 10: 1:23 p.m. – The same elderly woman from the previous call had to be transported to the hospital later that evening. Some of her family took her service dog to take care of while she was in the hospital. Once she got home, the family refused to return the dog. The officers were able to contact the family and get the dog returned to the woman.

5:50 p.m. – Mario Luis Garcia, 38, of Lovell was arrested on probation hold by officers after assisting the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department at the Annex on East Fifth Street.

September 12: 8:10 p.m. – A mother called to report that her adult son was intoxicated, yelling and breaking things at Rose City West apartments. Officers arrived and spoke to the son. He checked out OK, and everything appeared to be verbal. He agreed to go for a walk and cool off and calm down. The mother told officers she would call back if anything happened again.

September 13: 7:28 p.m. – The owner/manager of the Shoshone Bar and Grill called to speak with officers about things that happened in the bar the night before. A male subject was spitting all over the bar in multiple locations. He broke two tables on the back patio when he left, and the toilet seat had been torn off in the men’s bathroom. The male individual has been trespassed from the location.

September 14: 6:17 p.m. – An individual living on West Third Street called to report he was missing keys to his truck, an AR-15, Troy Bilt generator and other personal items. The items have still not been found, but the officers have a suspect under investigation, and the
case is still ongoing.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
