Local students fare well at Showalter Music Festival

Lovell and Rocky Mountain middle schools participated in the Showalter Music Festival Saturday, Feb. 7, open to brass, woodwind, percussion, guitar, piano and vocal students.

Keath Fenton, Lovell Middle School performing arts director, reported the following recognitions.

Lovell solo instrumental performers earning a “1” rating are Oakley Abraham and Rylee Mayes, flute; Rebecca Stoker, saxophone; Damion Craw, trombone;  and Gage Bair on both xylophone and drum set. Also receiving a “1” are Rylee Mayes and Macee Winterholler with a flute and saxophone duet and Chevy Banks and Renaka Lauhoff, flute duet. 

Instrumentalists earning a “2” rating were Chevy Banks, flute solo, and Ashlynn Hitz, snare drum.

Vocal soloists earning a “1” are Piper Marchant, Harper Walker and Janelle Asay. Also receiving a “1” rating are vocal duets Harper Walker and Rubie Weber, Wyatt Hendershot and Leah Hessenthaler, Spencer Walker and Jamen Crosby and Janelle Asay and Laney Felkins.

Gerry Burton, Rocky Mountain music director, submittted the following awards for Rocky Mountain Middle School students.

Choir members receiving a “1” for their performance are Alex Ackerman, solo; Paizlee Fisher, Josie Loyning and Penelope Wambeke, trio; and Jace Kuhl and Ryker James, duet. 

The following vocal students earned a “2” rating: Karter Miller, Aiden Wallman, Eli Wallman and Ridge Wilson, quartet; Ashlynn Davison, Millie Hanusa and Eden Wallway, trio; Alyvia Ackerman and Clair Mumford, duet; Brooklin Heron and Finnley Weinand, duet; Adrianna DeLaCruz, Collins Hubbell and Delilah Ott, trio; 

O’Brien Parry, Riley Pincoskie and Canyon Weinand, trio; Savannah Meier, Kelsey Pierce and Ava Weierman, trio; Kaiden Adey, Bryden Beall, Barry Jolley and Gus Loyning, quartet; and JJ Bracamontes, Tristan James and Jeremy Weber, trio.

Band students earning a “1” are ensemble Adrianna DeLaCruz, Collins Hubbell and Delilah Ott and the duet of Tyler Crosby and Derek Hedges. Also receiving a “1” rating are instrumental soloist Stacia Tippetts, Jasper Tippetts, Penelope Wambeke, Mason Haslem, Clair Mumford, Canyon Weinand and Hudson Moore. 

Riley Pincoski, Ryker James and Kaylie Watts as well as the drumline earned “2+” for their performances.
