Gov. extends emergency permits for livestock

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Gov. Mark Gordon has signed Executive Order 2026-006, extending the authorization (2026-005) for emergency relief permits for vehicles transporting oversize and overweight loads of livestock feed and livestock across Wyoming.

This extension comes in response to widespread drought, high temperatures, low humidity and wildfires across Wyoming during the spring and summer of 2026. 

These hazardous conditions have depleted pasture grass and natural forage, creating a critical livestock feed shortage that threatens the state’s agricultural sector and general economy.

The executive order commences on the expiration of the current executive order 2026-005 and expires no later than October 6. It can be found on the governor’s website.
